Al Gore dupes 9000 people in Hawaii, insults the rest

CJ Orach - peopleneedpower:

Al Gore is the one who is “immoral, unethical and despicable” by using fear tactics that do not conform with reality. Wild And Lethal Weather Extremes Gripped The Planet…80 Years Ago When Atmospheric CO2 Was Well Under 350 ppm! http://shar.es/TYNlX

Moreover, the reality is Coal and other fossil fuel energy sources are good for Mother Nature and other living things http://youtu.be/S-nsU_DaIZE

unlike his favored sources of energy solar, wind and biofuel which shafts the poor http://wp.me/p7y4l-lnm

and whacks Mother Nature:

Wind not working so well http://wp.me/p36QXu-qM ditto Solar http://greencorruption.blogspot.com/2014/04/abengoa-atrocities-sequel-california.html?spref=tw … Biofuel etc destroys natural habitats http://youtu.be/5igyXyJKL_0

The Years of Living Stupidly

The story below is from from Honolulu Civil Beat, who covered a political rally on April 15th by Gore to 9000 people in Honolulu’s Stan Sheriff Center. It is a 12,500 seat sports auditorium where his voice was amplified by, his slideshow enabled with, and his persona illuminated by and made comfortable with air-conditioning, all made possible by the “dirty energy” electricity generated by fossil fuels that he railed against.

HECO power plant at Kahe Point, powered by oil.

The electricity that enabled Mr. Gore’s rally was courtesy of the oil burning power plants of the Hawaiian Electric Company, such as the HECO power plant at Kahe Point in West Oahu seen at right.

Gore himself once said in a crackpot statement: “there is no such thing as ethical oil.”

The Years Of Living Stupidly – Chapter II – The Deforestation of Mother Earth To “Save the Earth” From Climate Change

President Obama says the time to act is now to “save the earth” from the IPCC Climate Activists predictions of Imminent Catastrophic Climate Change. Imminent predictions of Catastrophic Climate Change (which people are ignoring now) because all of the IPCC’s doom and gloom Climate predictions that they have been trotting out every time they issue a new report have never come about.

Given the bad track record of the IPCC foretelling of Climate doom and gloom you would think President Obama would take second look at the wisdom of pursuing more costly and worthless Climate Mitigation Policies. Policies that in the here and now demonstrate that what Earth really needs is to be saved from President Obama’s and the IPCC’s Climate Change Mitigation policies.

Take for example biofuel or biomass renewable energy sources that President Obama is so fond of. Rain Forests, industrial logging on massive scale and thousands of acres of farmland once used to grow food crops are being sacrificed to produce the biofuel and biomass that President Obama’s and the IPCC’s Climate Mitigation policies demand. Obama uses Sweden as an example to the world of the “success” of Climate Mitigation due to the fact Sweden’s energy is now 50% from renewable sources a large portion of which comes from biomass.

Biomass produced by the clearing of Rain Forests in Brazil and Industrial Logging on a massive scale in Sweden.
Renewable Energy from the clearing of Rain Forests in Brazil:
“Sweden also imports large quantities of ethanol, mainly from Brazil. However, a broad section of the Swedish public now perceive the ethanol industry as a direct contributor to hunger and the destruction of rain forests.”     According to Sweden the biofuel they get from from Brazil is all from “sustainable” sources but the truth remains that to get the biofuel Sweden uses for renewable energy the land once covered by Rain Forests had to be cleared and replanted with biofuel crops like Palm Oil trees. According to the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Brazil’s Amazon region lost 111,087 sq km of forest cover between 2004 and 2012, including 44,361 sq km in Pará.”

Industrial Logging in Sweden:
Another source of Sweden’s renewable energy from biomass comes from industrial logging.
“We just have to get past industrial logging for the mass global markets. It is wiping out standing forests (the lungs of he planet) at an alarming rate. What are the alternatives? Use more salvaged wood? Replace wood with other materials? Build less and reorganize and reuse existing spaces?”

Posted by Trevor Burrowes on 01 Dec 2011

“Check the depth of those tracks. Remember that Sweden’s forests are largely taiga and so these things become water filled ponds which are not going to revert to forest floor that welcome seedling trees any time soon, and there’s no program that forestry companies use to remediate them. I saw tracks like this everywhere I went.”

The EPA uses the “social cost” of fossil fuel as a justification for shutting down the US Coal industry. However the EPA fails to factor in the “social cost” to the lives of people and to natural habitats of deforestation of vast tracts of tropical forests and farm land (once used to grow food crops) that have been cleared to produce the renewable energy from biofuel used to replace fossil fuel with.

Decision in the Mann/UVa case, a blow to open science

What are Mann and the University hiding and why is it trumping the public’s right to know??? The plot thickens.

Why The IPCC Is Wrong About Bio-Energy

CJ Orach - peopleneedpower:

wind Turbines emitt more CO, kill birds & bats, produce a fraction of the energy fossil fuel does and are weather dependent and unreliable sources of energy. Ditto Solar. Biofuel,Solar and wind turbine require enormous amount of land which destroy natural habitats and land for food crops. Even the IPCC admits they will skyrocket energy costs which will harm the poor the most. So why is government promoting them with the use of tax payer dollars? See @greencorruptionfiles

So, the IPCC has released their report on climate change mitigation. Naturally various people are in spin-mode. Greenpeace’s “journalism” wing have “ 15 key findings from the IPCC mitigation report .” Unsurprisingly the findings that do not suit Greenpeace’s agenda are not key.

And some journalists are doing a woeful job in doing their job. Damian Carrington of the Guardian tells us that the IPCC have concluded that mitigating climate change is “eminently affordable.” Meanwhile in a separate story the Guardian reports the IPCC telling Mr. Carrington that they are not allowed to make such conclusions.

But instead of hectoring journalists and complaining about the inevitable platitudes doled out in response to this report, I will instead suggest that the IPCC needs a good kick up the arse.

Consider what they say about bio-energy in the summary for policy-makers.

The table on page 18 informs us that…

Offshore Wind – Future Sustainable Energy?

Corrosion at the splash area of an offshore turbine.
Source: “Inspection Guidance for Offshore Wind Turbine Facilities”

Is this the future of Off-shore wind. This take after only a few years in service. Oil rigs are regularly brought inshore for routine maintenance which is not possible with the hundreds of turbines fixed to the sea bed. The saline environment that is the North Sea with the weather conditions prevailing there suggests that the cost of off-shore wind will only increase expotentially. A nightmare of our own creation.

Exploiting Human Misery and Distorting the Science: An environmentalist’s critique of “Years of Living Dangerously”

The Years Of Living Stupidly – Believing The Fear Mongering Lies and Distortion of Reality Of the Climate Alarmists Is Bad For Your Health And Other Living Things http://youtu.be/VHmXtxx8xwY

In “Years of Living Dangerously” Hollywood’s Don Cheadle partners with Christian climate scientist Katharine Heyhoe to convince fellow Christians that they should trust the climate scientists who blame the misery brought by a Texas drought on rising CO2. Indeed in times of natural climate calamities, people suffer and become insecure as they confront nature’s awesome power.

Unfortunately that is when charlatans exploit their misery, making it truly a time of living dangerously. Quick interviews with ranchers who still believe the drought was caused naturally or by God was a feeble attempt to suggest it is religion that has blinded ranchers to the purported “science” of catastrophic climate change. Instead the documentary evoked memories of the 1956 movie “The Rainmaker.” Rancher Noah Curry tells Burt Lancaster (who is playing the Bill Starbuck the rainmaker), “We…

The Years Of Living Stupidly

What do Climate Alarmists Want? To go back to living in the dark ages when life was short and brutal prior to the availability of cheap and reliable energy from fossil fuel?
Matt Ridley has a clear opinion on this:

“So we are doing real harm now to impede a change that will not produce net benefits for 70 years. That’s like having radiotherapy because you are feeling too well.

Richard Lindzen, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said it axv]:

“Future generations will wonder in bemused amazement that the early twenty-first century’s developed world went into hysterical panic over a globally averaged temperature increase of a few tenths of a degree, and, on the basis of gross exaggerations of highly uncertain computer projections combined into implausible chains of inference, proceeded to contemplate a roll-back of the industrial age.”

The IPCC: Bar the Media, Welcome the Activists

AR5_WG1_closed_meeting

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has just completed another four-day meeting, this time in Berlin. In a little less than 24 hours, it will hold a press conference at which it will release the official summary of the 16 chapters that comprise the Working Group 3 section of its new report.

Over at the UK’s Guardian newspaper, Damian Carrington is already telling the world what that summary will say. His article is headlined IPCC Report: world must urgently switch to clean sources of energy.

Let’s leave aside the fact that the IPCC is supposed to be policy neutral – never policy prescriptive. It’s not supposed to be telling anyone what they must do. (See the last line of this self-description on the IPCC’s website).

Let us, instead, focus on…
